January 14, 2025 — JiffyStent, a pioneering MedTech startup based in Melbourne, has officially rebranded as Akeeko Medical, unveiling a new name, logo, and website that reflect its evolution and mission to transform medical care globally and make it more accessible, affordable, and efficient.
This milestone marks a significant step in the company’s journey as it prepares for the launch of its flagship product, the Akeeko Stent Inserter (ASI), which enables ureteric stent placement to be performed in the emergency department or clinician’s office with local anaesthesia, saving time and resources while providing immediate pain relief to patients.
With a multidisciplinary team of experts, the company is focused on developing innovations that create meaningful impact for healthcare systems, patients, and clinicians worldwide.

The MedTech startup recently achieved two notable milestones, being awarded the $50,000 grant under the Victorian Government’s MedTech Market Growth Program, aimed at accelerating the development and market readiness of its innovative ureteric stent inserter. Additionally, the MedTech startup also earned top honours at the Early-Stage Innovation Forum (ESIF) during AusMedtech 2024 in Adelaide, being recognised as the best early-stage project on May 22, 2024.
